Dental Anxiety Is Normal — Avoiding the Dentist Doesn’t Have to Be

If fear has kept you out of the dental chair for years, you are far from alone. Sedation dentistry lets anxious patients — and patients facing longer procedures — relax safely through their visit. At Northwest Family Dental, our two experienced dentists build sedation into the treatment plan whenever it helps, whether you are here for a filling, an extraction, or a full smile restoration.

Our Sedation Options

Nitrous Oxide (“Laughing Gas”) — $199

A gentle, fast-acting option you breathe through a small nose mask. You stay awake and responsive, but relaxed — and the effects wear off within minutes of finishing, so most patients drive themselves home. Great for routine visits, nervous kids, and mild anxiety. Learn more on our nitrous oxide page.

Oral Sedation — $299

A prescribed medication taken before your appointment brings you to a deeply relaxed, drowsy state. You remain conscious and able to respond, but many patients remember little of the visit. You will need a trusted adult to drive you home. Details on our oral sedation page.

Is Sedation Right for You?

Sedation is worth discussing if any of these sound familiar:

Your dentist reviews your health history and current medications before recommending any sedation, and monitors you throughout the visit. That conversation happens at your first appointment — a comprehensive exam, x-rays, and cleaning for $129.

Comfortable Care for the Whole Family

We use sedation alongside everything we do: extractions, root canals, implant placement, and children’s dentistry. Insurance benefits are verified up front, and Cherry and CareCredit financing can cover sedation as part of your treatment plan.

Take the First Step

The hardest part is picking up the phone — we make everything after that easy. Call (817) 237-3232 and tell us you are nervous; you will not be judged, rushed, or lectured. That is a promise.
