What's included in a general dentistry visit?

A typical preventive visit includes a hygiene cleaning, x-rays as needed, an exam by your dentist, oral cancer screening, and a discussion of any treatment recommendations. We aim for thoroughness without rush.

Do you treat kids?

Yes - we see patients of all ages. Most kids do great in our chairs from age 3 onward. For complex pediatric cases (severe anxiety, special needs), we may refer to a pediatric specialist.

I haven't been to a dentist in years. Will you judge me?

Never. A lot of our new patients haven't been in for 5+ years. We'll start with where you are and build a plan together - no lectures.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

New patient routine appointments are usually available within 1-2 weeks. Same-day emergency slots open every day for patients in pain.

What if I don't have insurance?

We have transparent self-pay specials on every common procedure - see our specials page. The $129 New Patient Special covers your first comprehensive visit.

What is the difference between a general dentist and a specialist?

A general dentist is your primary dental care provider — similar to a primary care physician. Dr. Appiah and Dr. Patel handle cleanings, fillings, crowns, extractions, root canals, and much more. When a case requires specialized training, we refer you to a trusted specialist and coordinate your care.

How much does a general dentistry visit cost without insurance?

Our New Patient Special is $129 and includes a comprehensive exam, full digital x-rays, and a professional cleaning. For returning patients, a routine cleaning and exam typically costs between $150 and $250 depending on your needs. We also offer a Membership Plan for uninsured patients.

What should I expect at my first visit?

Plan for about 60 to 90 minutes. We will take a full set of digital x-rays, complete a comprehensive exam including an oral cancer screening, perform a professional cleaning, and then sit down with you to discuss any findings and recommended next steps. No pressure — we walk you through options and costs before anything is scheduled.
